Never called a solo performing artist (despite the being of an unsold television pilot called The Arnold Stang Indicate), he works better within, & prefers, an ensemble cast in which he plays only one of the diverse class action of risible characters.

He was popular in the late 1940s as a sidekick to comedian Henry Morgan on the latter's old-time radio show. He besides is swell remembered when a voice of the Hanna-Barbera cartoon character Top Cat. He provided a voice of the Honey Nut Cheerios Bee in the 1980s.

Around one of a weirdest-ever picture pairings, Stang was teamed sustaining a immature Arnold Schwarzenegger (billed as "Arnold Strong") in the latter's number one film, a 1970 camp classic Hercules in New York.

His married woman, Joanne Stang, occurs as writer for the New York Times.
